I adopted a retired breeding female on Thursday and am already 100000000000% smitten with this little girl!! Her previous owner was feeding Taste of the Wild, but since coming to me she has not been interested in it at all. I have done some researching online about different food options and was curious what everyone else feeds. I also have not found many things that she is interested in as toys. The breeder said that she likes cow hooves and some tug of war toys-- nothing has gotten her attention yet. I have only ever had cats, and my boyfriends family has Yorkie's that eat Pedigree-- but I was reading a lot that wheat/corn can cause an excessive amount of flatulence and sometimes GI upset due to their breed. I would also like any advice anyone has about bedding, food bowls or anything else special I need to know!!

I know to keep her cool and hydrated due to living in Florida and her being brachiocephalic, but are there other concerns I should have with this breed?? I don't want to bother the breeder with more mundane questions, so I figured a forum of frenchie lovers would be best!!! <3

Give her about 2-4 weeks to settle in and she will shine bright once comfortable

Spoil her with love and let her adjust like 2bullymama has said. It's a big adjustment for her. Congratulations!!!!

Congrats on your new Frenchie. She is still nervous about her new home, and some will not eat for awhile. I definitely would not feed her Pedigree as it is crap food. Try some toppings on her food, like Feta cheese, or Stella and Chewy freeze dried food, sometimes that will get them eating again. Also just limit her time outside to stay cool. We live in Texas and only let ours outside to do their business and right back in to the A/C

:smileywelcome: to you and a great big CONGRATULATIONS. She will be interested in food again after she adjusts to her new digs!
