Hi everyone. So I posted yesterday that my frenchie Mila got bit at the park. She has a small wound on her about which is already healing. However, ever since the incident she has been acting scary aggressive towards my other frenchie puppy Molly who is 4 months old. We’ve had her for 2 months, Mila and her have played none stop since we got her, she even lets her drink from her bowl and take her toys without an issue. She only growls at her when the puppy is being over the top annoying but it’s more of a, stop bothering growl. Ever since the incident yesterday she has being growling in a scary way every time the puppy comes near her. I’m afraid she might bite the little one and that their relationship will never be the same :( I’m so upset by this. Has anyone had this same issue? Did your dog finally came around? I am hoping that she is acting this way just because it was so recent. If this is permanent I’m going to be heart broken. Thanks in advance for your advice.

shes probably sore and cranky, nothing to worry about. let it play out.

You might consider having the vet look her over quick. Unless you know the medical history of the dog that bit her. Some vets will want to prescribe an antibiotic or a topical medication to ensure that the wound heals properly without becoming infected.
As for her interactions with the puppy...maybe just try to keep the puppy extra worn out for the next few days to give your other dog a rest. Lots of playing and exercise for the younger one means they won't have as much energy to play with the older one (in my humble opinion lol). Good luck and keep us updated :)

I agree that she may be sore and grumpy. It wouldn't hurt to run her to the Vet to have a good once over.

Hello,
First let me say that Mila and Molly are beyond adorable. They really look well cared for. I'm going to agree with what others have suggested and that is just a quick vet trip for a once over. I mentioned in your original thread that my other dog (a Boxer) got into a scuffle at doggie daycare and was bit several times in the leg area. His wound was drained and cleaned out and antibiotics were prescribed. He was very sore for a few days.

I hope that Mila is just grumpy and sore as others have stated. I'll share that my Boxer is now 7, and over the years he has been attacked several times, by different dogs. Once as a puppy while on a leash walk, by a neighbor's dog who was loose in his yard and ran after us on our walk. Once at daycare when he was around 2 and a chunk of his ear was torn. I changed day cares but he got bit several years later at a different daycare. I am the first to admit that my guy can be super annoying to other dogs as he tends to jump on them in his style of play; however, I'm sharing this so you can see that even though my dog has been in a handful of situations with other dogs, he still is friendly towards them and plays nicely. I still take him to day care once in a while. He is not aggressive at home with my Frenchie or my cat or any of our guests and visitors.

Please post an update. Hoping she recovers and is back to feeling like her old playful self again soon!

Glad he is okay.

paulabear84, I'm sorry for your experience. I would be worried, too, just because I think that is something we all do and it's so wonderful when they are buddies. (Mila is adorable, btw.) I don't think this will change her personality forever, and she will revert to her natural personality, which is how she was before this happened. Great advice from everyone else. Maybe get her checked to make sure she is healing correctly and doesn't have an infection, tucker baby out so he's not pesky, etc. Good luck - please keep us posted!

Thanks you everyone for your comments and advice. Took Mila to the vet and she’ll be ok. I’ll let you know how things turn out between the two of them

Also, keep in mind, if you are concerned or nervous they pick up on this and the more alpha of the two will go into 'protection' mode. Be sure you are settled due to the incident, you may not realize it, but maybe you are sending nerves energy to her.

So the girls are back to playing so all is well. I do have another unrelated question but I’ll create a separate post for it. Thanks again everyone!
