I have a feeling Bisou is going to be a big girl, but it's hard to tell. When we took her home at 4 1/2 months old, she weight 12 pounds. Now that she'll be 8 months next week, she weighs a little over 19 pounds. She's a pudgy little girl but not fat by any means. She's fed a total of 1 1/2 cups per day, gets lots of exercise, and just keeps getting bigger! I've tried a general calculation I found to estimate her fully-grown weight (age in weeks divided by weight multiplied by 52) and I've gotten results between 22-32 pounds. When I get her fixed, there was another Frenchie owner there who said hers pretty much stopped growing at 6 months, only gaining 2 pounds after that. I've also heard that Frenchies keep filling out until they're 2 years old.

What are your experiences in Frenchie growth? If she's 19 lbs at 8 months, how much bigger is she going to get?

Ya know I was just getting papers together to travel with The Sergeant and we were looking at how much he weighed each time he went to the vet. He was 9 1/2 weeks and went to the vet the day following his arrival and weighed 7.8 lbs. I remember thinking he was HUGE lol. He had an eye surgery at 5 months and he weighed 25.2 lbs. He just turned 2 on 10/17 and he weighs between 29 and 31 lbs each visit since he was 18 mos. He weighed exactly 30 lbs ast time I had him weighed in August for his Appoquel. We feed him twice a day and he gets 3/4 c each meal which is 1 1/2 c per day and he plays a lot but sleeps a lot too. He does his daily Frenchie 500. I used to give him more treats but now he only gets them once or twice a week and only if I leave him. He's a foodie and would eat anything, anytime and as much as you'd feed him. He's extremely food motivated. Typical FBD. My dog was neutered at 6 mos and I don't think the neutering had anything to do with his size. He is not fat. He's a power house of muscle and is so strong. I think he's just a big boy. He had one brother in the litter and that brother only weighs 18 lbs. My pup was definitely the big pup in the litter and my breeder said he was a lil' pig from the start. Both his parents were under 20 lbs so I am not sure how you judge what their size will be.

My Frencie girl Francesca is 9 months old today, just got thru her first heat and weighs 25 pounds. Very stocky. I think your dog is in the range it should be.

They are all so different. At 8 weeks Rootbeer weighted about 6lbs. He gained weight really quickly for the first 6 months. I want to say he was somewhere around 23-25lbs at 6 months. I was so worried he would be giant. After that he slowed down a lot. He will be 1 on Sunday and weighs 27/28lbs. I have heard they continue to grow until about 2 but thats just filling out from what I'm told so I expect he might gain another couple pounds as he fills in more but not too much. As long as shes not over weight (fat) I wouldn't worry too much because theres mot much you can do!

Jax and Sarge must be brothers from another mother. You have pretty much described Jax (food motivated, will eat anything, daily Frenchie 500, neutered at 6 months). He currently weighs 30 pounds but has weighed as much as 32 pounds but he is not fat. I was giving Jax 3/4 cup twice a day but have recently dropped to to 1/2 a cup twice a day because he does get treats every day and he has been maintaining his weight. I have vet papers at home that lists his weight at each visit.

Radar is 32 pounds at a year old and like both Jax and Sarge he is food motivated and not fat. Similar to Jax he gets 1/2 a cup twice a day because I do spoil him with treats. I know he is outside the standard for a male, but as he is my smooshy faced pet I'm okay with that. I am careful to make sure he doesn't become over weight with the health problems that are indicative of that. But he really is a big happy, healthy boy.

Another brother from another mother! I call it good living!

My Bruce is currently 33lbs at 7 months, he is a big boy, there are a few frenchies where we live and most of them are around 2 years old and he is almost twice their size! When will he stop growing?????. Ive always monitored his weight every week and he just hasnt stopped growing, we exercise him twice a day, we are feeding him raw from a company in the uk called Natural Instinct. We dont plan on showing him so not to bothered what his weight is like, just making sure he doesnt get fat.

Radar started slowing down around 7 months. So I think you will see an increase but he won't double in size. As an aside, what a perfect name for him!

I'll include Wally in that as well. We got him fixed at a year old and he was 28.6lbs. Now he's 2 and he weighs 30.2lbs, according to the vet's scale.

Wally is all muscle, and head! His head is massive!

Sounds like I can expect her to get pretty big! The family we got her from said that their vet expected her to only be around 18 lbs. Then again, they said she was 8 lbs when we got her, when in reality she was 12. I know the standard is around 18-28 lbs, but I have yet to meet or hear about an adult Frenchie under 25 lbs.

Stella is one today and I weighed her this morning...19 lbs., but she is too skinny. I m diligently working on getting her more interested in food amongst all of her food allergies. She is just so darn high strung/active and if I try and feed her more she won't eat it all. I am giving her some freeze dried chicken for snacks throughout the day, which she likes. Jake on the other hand is 20 mos. and roughly 28-29 lbs. I feed him 1/2 C twice daily (the same as Stella) I remember his weight gain really slowing down around the 9 mos. mark.

Hudson turns one next week. He is 25 pounds. He was about 3 pounds at 12 weeks. Vet and breeder thought he would be around 21 pounds. He was 11 pounds at 6 months. He is slim and fit, but extremely muscular. The vet told us that generally they double from six months, but he obviously went over that. I think he's done growing.

I would say she will be about 22 to 23 pounds. If she weighs more than that, she may be too chunky. She is getting to the age you may need to cut back on her food intake. Once they get about a year old I would cut back to about a cup a day. That's how much we feed our adult female Frnchies.

We got Tigger at 7months and he weighed 19 lbs, At ten months he was 23 lbs, now at 26 months he is 24-1/2 lbs he looks huge compared to how he looked when he was just a pound lighter. His weight obviously has shifted as he went from puppy to adult. He is intact I don't know what effect this has on his development. His neck and shoulders have developed so much from nine months to about 18 months, it's amazing when we look at pics knowing he was essentially the same weight. His body seems to have stopped changing the past few months.

This makes me feel better about Pierce. He is a little over 7 months and weighed 27.2 lbs at the vet last week. He gets around a cup a day of his food and maybe a little from Schatzi's bowl if he can get away with it. He has always had a bigger build, so I am not too surprised he is this size, I am just glad to know he should start slowing down. We went back to see his breeder last month, which was so fun, and his dad weighs around 28lbs. They look so much alike!

My little guy Oliver is six months and only 12 pounds. I'm afraid he's going to be really tiny. Any idea how to stock him up lol

Hudson was 11 pounds at 6 months. Don't worry, he'll grow!! He is 26ish now at one year!

Yup, right down to the allergies. Did you get your Apoquel? They had to give me the small milligram last time because they were out of the larger. Seems to work fine. We drove to Florida and have been here a couple weeks and he only has one hot spot that I treated a couple times with the Vetericyn and it's gone. Maybe they are related. My dog comes from a Smokey Valley lines.

Yes, we did get the Apoquel. He was on Temaril P while we were waiting and because of the dosage, he was a doped up zombie. He was on Simplicef a few weeks ago for bacteria (he had been constantly licking/chewing at his paws) but he is still licking them like crazy so I am taking him to his dermatologist next week. I've tried the ACV and povidone iodine soaks and neither one has helped. One of his back paws is bright red from him always going at it. These guys...
