He is 3.7kg 3 months old male puppy. Since I got him last month his poop is so soft and he scoots a lot. It's not worm and I have brought him to 3 different vet no one have a clue. Finally one of them told me it might be because he poop too much and soft so it irritates his bum. So we decided to reduce his food from 240g per day (Blackwood 3000) to 60g per day (Royal Canin Gastrointestinal - vet got the amount from the food bag).
After I change his diet his scooting problems stop. But it seems he got allergy for chicken because little bumps appearing in his ears. I switched his food to Nutrience Grain Free (34%protein)

His breeder is very concern and tell me that the puppy should not be eating so little. He should be eating around 220g per day like his other siblings. High protein food is not suitable for him too. Blackwood protein only 24% and is better for him.

Should I listen to the vet or a breeder that have over 20 years experience with french bulldogs?

It's best to follow the required amount on the bag and then alter depending on if weight gain or loss incites. Each food is different and if you feed a really high quality food you will feed less and the dog will feel full and get the required nutrients vs a cheaper food that you will need to feed more of to get the same results. We started zeta as a puppy on grain free blue buffalo small breed and have never had an allergy problem. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1414368478.714304.jpg

Usually if the poop is soft, cutting back on the amount just a little will help. We feed our pups FROMM Puppy Gold in the pink bag. a three month old, we would feed about 1/2 cup three times a day.

My plan is to slowly transition his to Acana Pacifica, seems to have high reviews on several websites.
Protein 33%
Fat 17%
Fiber 5%
Is it too much protein for a French Bulldog? What can too much protein do to him? I've heard eye discharge, rashes etc...

The bag suggested 60g for a 5kg less active dog (it's a food for all life stages so there's no specific amount for puppy). My puppy is 4kg now. I hope it's not too little for him.

What's your view on this?

Acana is a great kibble ! Its made by Champion, the winner of Best Dry Pet Food award for the last few years. They only use canadian products. Its the only kibble we sell in our store (we sell raw).
High protein will not do anything. But protein is not just from meat also from corn, soy, peas etc but the Pacifica is grain free and the majority really does come from fish.
If you go with a lower protein kibble it usually means there are more of lower quality fillers.
So its not about how much protein but what kind of protein is being used.

Wally is fed Acana Pacifica and he does very well on it. I highly recommend it.
