Hey all,
So this morning we dropped off our Boxer (Sox) at the vet to be sedated to get his nails dremmeled. I had to work but my husband was home most of the day. Apparently Daphne lost her mind without her brother because she peed all over her bed in the crate and she hasn't done that since the first week we brought her home (just about a year ago). My husband went out just for a bit and when he got home he discovered the pee and said she was running all around the house trying to find her big bro all afternoon.
I find this interesting because they really don't spend a bunch of time together. I've had dogs in the past that were inseparable. I've had dogs that loved each other so much that when the companion passed, the other dropped a bunch of weight and went into a deep depression. Daphne really appears to not give a flying crap about Sox unless he has something she wants.
My husband told me that he was afraid to put Daphne back in the crate when he had to go pick up Sox at the vet, so he brought Daph with him and he said it was ridiculous - when they both saw each other they lit up and wagged their little nubs and ran to each other. Wish I was there to see it.
We brought Daphne home last year the first week of February, and I guess they really do love each other even though they don't act like it. She has spent the better part of the last hour grooming Sox, licking his ears and paws and face.
