Meet Chai!! Ive had her for almost four months. She's up to date with all of her shots Her ears were standing up but they started to flop about a week or so ago. I think it's due to her teething now. I started giving her non fat yogurt to assist in the ears standing up. After sending a friend a pic of her she asked me if she's full frenchie. She said she looks like she's mixed with a Pug. Forum, can you help me out? Is she a full Frenchie? 2016-01-24 18.04.55.jpg2015-12-18 22.01.59.jpg2015-12-21 17.39.43.jpg

I am guessing she is around 6 mos. old if you've had her for 4 mos. She is absolutely adorable! She could be a Frenchie mix, but that would probably be to her advantage healthwise. Did you see both parents before you got her? Does she have littermates?

So the breeder I purchased her from sold her to me at exactly 8 weeks according to her papers. I saw countless videos and pics of the parents/siblings. The breeder lived about a hour outside of Chicago but agreed to bring her to me. The minute I laid eyes on her I fell in love. It was an uphill battle initially. The breeder gave me a bag of kibble and Cesar's wet food. Chai was definitely not ready to eat kibble. I refused to put the Cesar's wet food in her bowl. I purchased the wellness wet brand for puppies along with esbilac. She couldn't hold food down and she had diarrhea. After a trip to the er she was diagnosed with worms and the vet said she wasn't properly weened from her mom. When I took her to the vet she was 2 pounds and you could see her ribs. She's on Fromm now and in perfect health but now that she's in good shape I'm starting to question if she's a full French. It doesn't matter if she is or not at this point. I know if she would've stayed with the breeder, she wouldn't have been properly taken care of.

That's interesting. Did the dogs in the photos and videos look similar to the one you got?

She looks like she could be a mix to me, but she is so cute!!

Hmm..sounds a little fishy to me...
She looks like she could be a mix.

But she is definitely super adorable and I am glad she found such a good home ;)

So happy you got her healthy and she is doing well! Her snout does look different for a Frenchie... longer perhaps, but as you stated, she is super adorable and in a loving home!

I agree with the others, she might be a mix. I'm SO glad she's with you now and will have a happy & healthy life! She's damn adorable! I love the floppy ears.

She looks like she might be a mix but either way, she is cute. And I am glad you were able to get her well and that she is in a loving home where she will be taken care of.

Agreed!

The siblings looked just like Chai except their ears were already up.

So called breeders like that piss me off. They should be in jail. She is a cutie pie, but definitely a mix of some kind. So happy you got her all fixed up and healthy again.

what you paid for her might give you a clue on whether if she is purebred or not.

what does the tail look like?

she looks like a frenchie to me. with a unique face.

Now that I looked at her again, I think she might be a mixed dog.

She looks more like these mixed dogs in the photo.

Either way, she is a sweetie.

She is beautiful!

She looks very much like a Boxer to me with the shape of the head, and a slightly elongated snout. Maybe a Frenchie, Boxer mix.

She looks like a Boston terrier to me a little bit. Cute though! How is she doing ?
