Soooo I am the owner of a beautiful 10 month old godiva brindle boy named Francis (frank). I got him in NYC back in December of 2015 and he was 11 weeks old when I got him. Frank has been great so far, we have gone through some obvious puppy problems such as potty training (which took only 4 weeks to do). We still put up with a little chewing but i think that comes from boredom, he listens very well for the most part. Frank knows "sit", "wait", "paw"and "down". He is stupid smart so all those have been very easy to teach as well as getting him to swat a bell hanging from the back door when he needs/wants to go outside. ANYWAYS! Frank is close to 30 lbs, his dad was a big boy (muscular not fat), so naturally frank is a bigger french. Perfect build but there are a few things I have questions about that maybe some can answer. So Franks back legs are somewhat longer then most and his head is a little smaller then most. basicily i am out and about with frank when people say "nice boston terrier" haha. his markings resemble nothing even close to a boston but I guess maybe his build does? Anyways I have heard its genetics and i have heard its because we got frank fixed when he was only 6 months old. I have heard it all. Another thing I am curious about is when to bring a new baby girl frenchie into mine and Frank's life. the reason i have chose a female because i know its like 20% chance she will become an alpha vs. bringing another male who will have a 50% chance of becoming an alpha. I want him to be good with her and not be mean. He's deff far from mean, Its just when i have him around other dogs (such as my buddies two full grown GSPs) he can hold his own ya know and play FOREVER! he has to be kind of tough and act as a bigger dog when he is around them. I don't want him to try and rough house this little girl and beat her up. So is there like a certain age that he will calm down around other dogs? is he going to be mean to this little girl if i bring her into our house when he's still young himself? Im just curious if anyone can help me decide on whats the best for my growing family. Also i am moving back to Cleveland OH in August, if anyone knows any reputable frenchie breeders within 300 miles that'd be great! Thanks again everyone and again PLEASE HELP!!! lol :D

He's a very handsome boy! I don't think he looks anything like a BT. Our story with my two is that we first got Jake and he was a total love bug. Very easy going and he loved to play with other dogs. That's when we thought it would be a good idea to get another one to keep him company. We got Stella when Jake was 10 mos. old. She was so feisty and would growl, bark and chomp on his jowls. Jake was so gentle with her and was a good big brother. If Frank is laid back he shouldn't be aggressive with a puppy. You will just need to supervise play time as puppies can be annoying and the older dog will need a break.

Frank is a good looking Frenchie. We have never had an older dog mistreat a baby--usually the baby and the sharp baby teeth get to be tiresome for the older dog! The baby will need some time out to give Frank a break!

Thank you very much. Those pictures kind of don't do justice for Frank's head see but he is deff a good looking frenchie. I am prob going to do a little bit of waiting as far as finding a baby girl goes. So i can find one that has some parents with seriously FAT heads. I have seen him around BIG dogs and he can deff hold his own, and he has been around my wife's chihuahua who is a female and he just wants to smell her nose and hang out but she finds him somewhat annoying and growls at him and shows her teeth but only in a (I'm old get the hell back young pup!) kind of way. haha! Thank you both for the responses, i was wondering when someone was going to finally answer back. Is this the best frenchie forum out there?

Yes, this is the BEST Frenchie forum! I do not post often, but when I do, I always get the most helpful answers and no one makes me feel stupid for asking. You will find some great advice on here just by reading what has already been posted and the general info stuff.
We are bringing a baby boy home this week. Pierce is two and very laid back. I will definitely be posting about the experience and will let you know how it goes.

oh thats seriously so awesome! congrats on your new baby boy! I'm guessing since you are apart of this forum that you prob already have a frenchie or franchise at home? I am seriously excited to find this new baby girl, i just wish i could find a good breeder that was close by that has what i am looking for. it seems that everyone is breeding brindles, fawns and cremes. I really would like to get a blue or chocolate. Please let me know how everything goes with the new baby boy!

Frank is gorgeous!! His build sounds a lot like Wally, except for the small head. Wally's got a huge noggin. :D I also have a Boston Terrier and don't think Frank looks like one at all, even with longer legs. Then again a lot of people just don't know many dog breeds. I get complimented on my 'pugs' all the time. lol!

I do think that Frank will know to be gentle with the puppy. Good luck finding your new baby!

Welcome! Frank is a gorgeous Frenchie. To me he looks nothing like a Boston Terrier, but I have had people ask if my girl is a Pug, Boston, or even an English Bulldog.

It sounds like he'd like a friend! I've found that the females are more easygoing sometimes, but it definitely depends on the dog. Most Frenchies get along pretty well, however. They tend to play rough though, and most other breeds of dogs don't seem to appreciate it (I've had mine take on a 110 lbs. German Shepherd, much to my dismay :)!) You'll know when you find the right puppy for you and Frank, though.

Welcome --- he is a good looking little guy! As for a second pup, female is a better chance of them getting along. I have two males now and my Frenchie, Chelios rules the house. Lambeau our Bulldog just follows 'Napolian's' lead. Cheli has on a few occasions tried to take down a Great Dane and a Cane Corso... they may be small but they can definitely hold their own.

You can bring in another Frenchie at anytime. I would let them meet on neutral ground at first to see how they get along. Then if that goes well, then bring the new dog to the house and let them meet again in the backyard. If that goes well, then bring her into the house and just watch them. It really should go well. Good luck with the new girl.

We brought Oren home Thursday. I was concerned at first because Pierce was being so frisky with him. We had Pierce on his leash at first so we had some control. He was most interested in whether Oren was a girl or boy! We just watched them closely, and rescued Oren when we needed too. By Thursday evening, Pierce was settling down. Yesterday, Oren was just part of the family and something to play with. They are so cute together.

My boy Banksy was born March 15 2015 and my girl Aiko was born Oct 10 2015

I loved adding a little girl in! It worked out perfectly and Im glad we did it when Banksy was still young!

You will never regret adding another frenchie into the family.

do you notice a lot of your little girls hair everywhere? Frank sheds but you only see it when we sweep dude to his dark brindle.

buttt to answer your question properly yes you notice aikos hair more on our hard wood floors only cause banksys hair is like the exact same color as the flooring and aikos is white

so it depends what color your stuff is really... our bedding we notice more banksy hairs cause its light colored

Frank is soo sweet! My little boy, Lucian is also about the same age and weighs about 27 pounds. He has more or less the same constitution, he is a bit taller and skinnier than other bullies. We also have a 6 yo girl, she is alot shorter and stubbyer, weighing 35. We introduced louie when he was 1.5mths old. We had ocasional problems for about 5-6 months, where our older girls was quite dominant, especially around her food. They have now become best friends. I guess it depends on Franks attitude, but either way, i would rather introduce the puppy sooner rather than later.
