My frenchie puppy has been having mostly soft stool for the whole time we have had him. He is 5 months old. We have had two rounds or antibiotics and tested negative for giardia and parasites. His good is a chicken and brown rice Nutro brand puppy kibble. The vet suggested to put him on a special gasto intestinal kibble for couple weeks and probiotics. Any suggestions? His energy and appetite are totally normal!

I would try adding canned pumpkin (not pie filling) and possibly go away from the chicken. Radar had a really bad reaction to chicken so that might be contributing to his upset tummy.

You didn't say how much you are feeding but sometimes cutting back on the amount helps a lot.

Try another protein! A lot of frenchies have troubles with chicken. We feed our pup Salmon and sweet potatoes.
Fish or Lamb I would recommend trying

I agree with the no chicken. My guy has major issues with it too. He didn't have firm stool until probably 7-8 months old which is when we switched to raw. Kibble just didn't work for him. You probably just need to find the right food for him, their digestive tracks can be so finicky.

Mine doesnt like chicken as well. She eats Acana Pacifica which contains no grains.. only fish , vegetables and fruit.

How is your baby doing?

Great question -- how much food at each meal?

I would go with another brand of food. There are better kibbles out there than Nutro. You can also try a little white rice too. You can check out Dog Food Reviews and Ratings | Dog Food Advisor for some ideas of better kibbles. Good luck and I hope you find a solution soon.

Totally agree... nutro is not a very good food
