Neuter age?

Hello everyone. Just curious what people recommend the age to get my male frenchie neutered? My vet recommended 6mo (he's 6mo old now) however I felt that was too soon. I set up an appointment to have it done on his 1yr birthday. Recommendations?

If you use the search bar on the forum and type in neuter you will find lots of discussions on this topic!! I myself have asked this question as well...and I know a others have. So lots of really good info on here for you!!!

Banksy is turning 1 in march and we plan on getting it done sometime between 1 and 2.

I would wait until around 18 months giving him a chance to grow fully with all his hormones. Would only neuter before if there were humping or aggression issues

My vet recommended 6 months as well, but I'm going to try to hold out for at least a year unless we start to have issues with him.

I agree about waiting as long as you can. Wally was a year old when I got him neutered.

I agree to wait a bit. We neutered Jake at 7 mos. for behavior issues.
