Hi all! I know it varies from area to area and vet to vet, but I'm wondering what y'all consider "normal" in terms of a quote for neutering. I am just trying to get an idea of which of my bulldog vets is more in the "normal" range. Of course we are willing to pay to keep him safe and healthy (!!) but I also don't want to be completely uninformed. Thank you!

Where I work, it's $140 for a neuter assuming that both testicles are descended normally. That includes anesthesia, pre operative exam, and meds to take home for pain and inflammation. Pre operative blood work is optional and costs $35.

Rootbeers neuter was $125. That included everything, preop bloodwork, preop exam, anesthesia, operation, and pain meds to bring home. We live in a small town though so our vet costs seem to be a little more affordable around here. Our vet doesn't specialize in bulldogs but we went over the whole procedure before hand so I could be sure they would use the proper anesthesia, intubate him, and have a heart monitor on him. That was all included in that price. He did great and was back to normal almost completely the bext day.

I think our vet is around $150.00

Can't help with neutering, but sheesh I wish I had a boy instead!
We paid $550 for Isabelle's spay... (Specialized anesthesia, oxygen & IV, different stitch, mandatory pre-op blood work to ensure she would be fine under said anesthesia)... Rather pay more and feel comfortable than be sorry later...

I can't remember how much I paid but the insurance covered $100 of it.

Thank you guys!! Having all of this info makes me feel better! I'm nervous about it, haha.
