If everything goes as planned im supposed to be picking up a Blue male frenchie this saturday. Trying to see what foos you guys/gals are feeding your pups. Right now he is on dry food i kinda wanna stay on dried but what brand do you guys recommend, what should i look for as in ingredients, etc. Thank you pics coming soon fingers crossed

I give Gus The Honest Kitchen dehydrated food, with a little Instinct Limited Ingredient (just switched from Fromm puppy) kibble mixed in.

I've also tried Stella & Chewy's beef patties, which he really liked.

Any experience with the Merrick brand? i was thinking of buying the grain free beef/ sweet potatoe

I've never tried Merrick, but I think it gets good ratings. The DogFoodAdvisor website is a good resource, if you haven't seen it yet. You can look up specific brands and see their ratings and reviews.

This thread in the FAQs section might also be helpful. Good luck with whatever you choose! :)

Merrick might be made by a company that has quite a few recalls but I can't remember off the top of my head.

Jax gets frozen raw. Louie, my bulldog, get The Honest Kitchen in the morning and Fromm at night.

And you don't necessarily need to give a puppy specific food. Some brands are for all life stages.

Some high quality kibble are Fromm, Acana, Orijen, Zignature. There are others too but as stated, check out dogfoodadvisor.com.

Yes, the were bought by Nestle, I believe. But, so far, Merrick has remained a decent brand of food.

We are not familiar with Merrick and do not feed kibble any longer. We feed Sojos and The Honest Kitchen.

We feed Acana (fresh water fish) and mix with Stella and Chewys meal mixers (savory salmon and cod). We have also used Orijen in the past and it too is a great food.

Whatever food you decide to use be sure and do a gradual switch over a 10 day period. Also, let the pup get used to his new home before you start the food change!

Congratulations and :smileywelcome: to FBN!

Thank you everyone for your input i appreciate it
