on the topic of blue French bulldogs, I started looking around on the web to find out more information, when they started being bred and I found this statement from a breeder on their decision to add a blue frenchie to their breeding line. I don't know who this breeder is its just a random link I found while on google but it was a very interesting read so I thought I would share it with everyone

I saw that same article and few others when searching info when Mo's mom was put together with a blue stud. I made a decision back then that if Mo's mom gets a boy, regardless of the colour, we will have him, since I was not looking for a show dog.
In my opinion, blue is as good of a colour as anything else. The only difference is that if you are planning to attend shows, they do not recognise the color. Also same with the registration/pedigree docs it will mention "colour not recognised". This is stated in Mo's pedigree as well. But so what... Moses is not a show dog but he is our precious family member. If you are not planning to attend official shows, then colour really does not matter.
During my research I could not find any link or reputable study pointing to any health issues related to the colour.
I honestly feel that with blue, it's pretty much the same thing as with black...there's nothing wrong, but if spreads too wide it cud go dominant and effect the breed colouring in the long run as per the CURRENT breed standards go. However, those are current KC standards, which differ from country to country anyways and can be altered as time goes by.
