Hello all!

We will be bringing our new French bulldog, Carl, home in 6 weeks! He will be joining his big brother Magnus who is an English bulldog. I currently feed Magnus Fromms Pork and Peas or Lamb and Lentils and he seems to do very well on both. The breeder will put Carl on Royal Canin bulldog puppy formula, which of course, I intend to start the slow transition as soon as I get him home.

I know that Fromms is an all life stage food and was considering just switching him onto that right away, but I wanted to see what others here recommend. Would you do a puppy formula? I've looked at the grain free puppy formula from Fromms and it has potatoes, which isn't an immediate concern, but their puppy gold formula has chicken, which I'm a little more concerned with since Magnus did not do well with chicken (so maybe it shouldn't be an immediate concern since Carl may not have an issue).

Just trying to see what others out there recommend. I'm not opposed to trying any of the other highly recommended foods (Orijen, Arcana, etc) if a puppy formula is truly more desirable.

I never had Magnus on a puppy food. His breeder told me to put him on an adult food right away and I had him on Diamond Natural chicken for the first couple of months I had him (until I found the English Bulldog Forum which was a huge help)!! Having never had a dog before I thought the breeder knew best! Boy, was I wrong!

Thanks in advance for any advice you can share.

Fromm has the new Prairie Gold grain free line.... I am feeding the beef based to my Bulldog, Lambeau and he will stay on that till about after he is neutered and then I will move him to the Pork and peas, which is what I am feeding our Frenchie, Chelios.

When i first brought Lambeau home, I placed him on a bland diet for about a week and then slowly transitioned him to the Fromm puppy gold (pink bag), when Fromm introduced the grain free Prairie, I just switched right over -- no issues at all.

We feed our pups FROMM Puppy Gold in the pink bag and have had good results with it.
