Pepper 🌶

Hi my name is John and I have a 5 year old frenchie called pepper.
She underwent spinal surgery 4 weeks ago to remove a disc .
4 days later she was unwell and an mri showed she had a blood colt on the spine so a further surgery was required.
She is now home but immobile and incontinent. She is having physio to aid recovery but am told a long process .any advice?
Hang in there and be patient, It can be a long process, but trust in that process. I have seen it take weeks to month to regain the ability to walk, wobble and use the potty on their own.

Thanks for your reply

I’m so sorry to hear this. My boy will be facing this soon enough. We are crating him now trying to heal his disc but he keeps re-injuring it. I’m afraid he will need this same surgery as well.

Well I don't regret my girl having the surgery but the recovery is really slow and traumatic.
I am lucky to be retired so can be with her 24/7.
I sleep on a mattress on the floor with her due to her getting stressed in the crate .we are 6 weeks post op and she is having physio weekly and I do 3 times a day at home .
I hope your boy is going to be well .
