Pet insurance?

I was looking into VPI & or EMBRACE... Anyone have anything that can help me decide? Pros cons???

I have VPI and have been satisfied. I have both the major medical and the wellness and pay about $46 per month. My last claim was for $200 and they reimbursed me for $125 (they don't pay for office visits). I just submitted a $600+ claim (allergy testing, allergy shots) and am waiting to see what gets reimbursed.

Are you still satisfied with VPI?

Yes, I am. With the major medical there is a $250 deductible which isn't a problem for me to hit with Jax's allergies. I just submitted an almost $350 claim and am getting all but $95 back. The $95 was the rest of my deductible.

We don't have insurance for ours, never have had it, and probably never will.

I have VPI for Radar. It paid to get him fixed, when he randomly hurt his eye and a very scary mystery ailment that could have been a soft blockage. Based on all of the issues I have seen on this forum and my experience so far with the breed I am totally keeping it for him. You just never know.

I refuse to pay for insurance that I'm not legally obligated to have, other than life insurance. I did the math and it would cost us a LOT more for vet bills if we had insurance. Insurance in Canada is basically legalized robbery, it's so incredibly expensive. Disgusting.
