I'n really impressed with Fromm for being a standup, legitimate dog food manufacturer. I filled out an inquiry form on their website... and the companies nutritionist called me by phone. We spoke for about 40 minutes. This is what I learned, and I'd like to share it with you all...

-- The nutritionist HIGHLY discouraged me from feeding anything but the puppy formula before eight months of age. He was extremely passionate and matter of fact about this. Almost angry while still being nice and informative, lol. I loved him.
-- I made my concerns known about the puppy formula being a grain inclusive product... and he assured me that corn and wheat are the only grains I should be worried about at this stage.
-- he told me that a puppies body is like a baby learning to swing a bat, highly complex foods should not be introduced until their digestive system learns to handle them -- case being the 4 star food.
-- puppies should be exposed to a variety of protein sources... if they are not, problems may arise later in life when they are eventually exposed.
-- do not count on your puppy to have an allergy based on what other dogs may not tolerate via the internet. Every dog is different. (Learned this on frenchbulldognews.com, as many of you have said - whatever works for your dog, works! - thanks guys!)
-- he had no opposition to my decision to feed partial raw. He gave me the recommended feeding portions based on the percentage of raw I am feeding. As an employee of fromm... he was completely honest and his opinion about me feeding a different commercial brand of dog food as a portion of my dogs diet.

I am so impressed! He also told me to PLEASE call him back in a few weeks to let me know how Danté is doing. He was genuine and experienced... As he has been a dog nutritionist for 40 years. I encourage all members who feed Fromm to contact them with any questions no matter how small.

Good customer service is a huge thing for any company. It sounds like Fromm knows there stuff AND cares about the pets.

I completely agree!! When I first called Fromm 5 years ago I was very impressed as well. I asked them questions about why they believe their product is best. They were very knowledgeable and if I brought up another top brand they would tell me that they were also an excellent choice without putting them down.

They also test their food twice, most only test it once. They do not cook all the nutrients out at high temperatures. They were also one of , if not the first, to put probiotics in the guaranteed analysis.

Awesome company who really seems to care about our pets!

One of the reasons we are on and will continue with Fromm

What great customer service and caring company.... love that I was able to learn about them through the members on EBN and my babies are eating a good food.

thank you for sharing!

That's great. I'm happy to hear such great customer service exists in the dog food world. We unfortunately cannot feed Fromm as mine have allergies to potatoes, pork etc. Thanks for sharing the great info. however.

That's awesome he called you back and just didn't send an email. Great company.

I think Grimm has a lamb and lentil that is potato free. I don't know if Jax has issues with potatoes or not but I try to stay away from them because they can cause yeast problems. Jax has been on a venison lentil kibble for awhile now but the brand isn't the greatest. I think I'm going to switch him to NutriSource which got 4 and 4.5 stars on dogfoodadvisor.com and it's potato free.

Thanks for sharing, this only further cements my choice to go with Fromm's when my puppy comes home this January

Nice to see customer service still exists! We don't use Fromm but if I ever need to change foods this is what I would try first.

I love that he got angry, says a lot about his passion on the subject.
