Ever since Isabelle (6 months old) had surgery 5 days ago, and has been forced to wear "the cone" if you try to touch her face, or head, anything inside the cone, she snaps at it.

I'm worried this will become a habit, and a firm tone saying "no biting" isn't cutting the cheese...

Any advice for this first time puppy/frenchie/bulldog parent?

Love to hear the responses as we are in the same situation when trying to get him from under the furniture.

I did some searching on the forum, and started this last night, I've already seen IMMEDIATE response, so possibly I can help you now :p

I have Isa waiting for everything.
Go potty? Sit at the door.
Coming inside? Sit at the door.
Hungry? Sit til I put your bowl down.
Want pet? Sit.

So far she's been much more obedient.

Also every time she went to snap? I said NO loudly and sternly, never breaking eye contact.
She eventually broke eye contact, and then licked me.

I'll be continuing these methods throughout training.

When Radar was play biting I would do one of two things. I would give him something appropriate to bite or I would immediately stop playing with him precipitated by the phrase "no bite". He got the message pretty quickly that if he was to play with me biting was not allowed.

I'm doing that, and repetitively telling her NO if she decides to still "chomp" per say.

Sorry it took so long to reply. We always tell ours "no bite" then give a chew toy for them to chew on. The make them earn every thing is also a good training method.

I'll just continue with these training antics and come back for more help if they should fail :p
