One of my frenchies (the youngest one) has just started pooping loads through the night. It is really frustrating because I feed them early and take them out for the last time about 11pm most nights and then I'm awake by 7.30am to take them out. 9 times out of 10 there will be 3 poops in the bathroom and sometimes wee! I don't know what to do anymore, they are confined to a small area at night with a gate, ( I'm going to start to close the bathroom door so the area is smaller) it is starting to drive me crazy, I try not to get angry because I just love their little flat faces to much!

P.S. Crate training is my last option as I have two frenchies and we live in apartment which just isn't big enough for two crates.

Does it look like diarrhea or are the stools normal? Just trying to rule out whether your Frenchie has an upset tummy or not, and just can't hold it overnight.

What age is the Frenchie that's doing this?

Perhaps it's a food issue? I know other members have stated that their Frenchies poop a LOT. Perhaps they can chime in and give you some pointers as to what they do with their pups overnight (Ie: are they in crates, etc.)

Unfortunately crate training would help tremendously with this problem. Is your other Frenchie potty trained? If so, you only need to crate the young one.

How old is the pup? As PugandTwoFrenchies asked, is the stool normal or is it like diarrhea? Does it look slimy? Could be a food issue (too much food or sensitive to the food). I also know giardia (a parasite) causes diarrhea.

I never crate trained Jax and the only time he pooped in the house at night was when we first got him at about 11 weeks and that was only the first couple of days.

It is a normal stool, and he only poops in the house at night, through the day he is fine and will do his business when I take them out for a run. Carlos the one doing the pooping is 7 months old, Cosmo my other one is completely toliet trained, yes was also wondering if could be a food issue but as I said it only seems to be at night when we are sleeping,

Thank you for your feedback

Yes Cosmo is completely toliet trained it is just our new pup Carlos who is 7 months old, he poops at night all the time while we are sleeping. If I can't find another solution I will have to try crate training with Carlos

I have never creat trained Cosmo and he is completely toliet trained and would never go to the toliet in the house now, it is Carlos the 7 month old I am having huge trouble with, everything I do I can't stop it. I make sure he has poop before we go to be, I stay outside with him for ages until he goes ( in which he usually does) but still poop in the morning,

I have had him tested for parasites and other tummy bugs and is all clear.

You need to crate Carlos at night and eventually he should get on schedule of pooping during the day. Can you walk him someplace exciting like a park after breakfast? That should maybe get things moving then, repeat after he has had dinner. Good luck.

Yes I am going to have too try it, I have tried everything else. Haha
I take him for a walk every morning and night sometimes even twice a night and he runs around in the grass with Cosmo,
Thank you for you help.

I agree with everyone else. He needs to go in a crate. Is there any way you could get up during the night once and take him out?

This morning there was no mess! I took him out for the last night at 11pm and then up at 8am this morning!

Some mornings it's a horror show and then this morning sparkling clean. I will try all these suggestions that everyone has given. :)
Thank you.
