Hi all does anyone else have an issue with their dog pushing their food around? I have 2 frenchies one ests without a problem. My other one will push his bowl around and bark. I’ve tried a few different brands and food varieties. My choices are limited because he has severe allergies.

Hi there-
Love your pic of the Frenchies in the car. So cute.
Does the one with allergies eat something different than the other dog? What is he currently being fed? He doesn't eat all the food then? Just pushes the bowl around? My initial suggestion would be getting a raised feeder so that he can't push the bowl around (it would be inside the stand) and if he is eating a kibble, maybe adding some warmed bone broth to it to perhaps make it a bit more enticing.

Hi,
Thank you! They both eat the same food- zignature. Have them on the trout/salmon formula now. I do use a raised bowl which he pushes as well.

You could try adding a meat topper--just a small amount and mix it in the kibble.

Well jeez. That's a good brand of food and you already have the raised feeder. I'm not sure what else you could do other than try what Alice Kable suggested - maybe a super yummy topper that he'd find hard to resist. Maybe he's not a fan of the fish based food? My Boxer does not have food sensitivities and will really eat anything I put in front of him....except fish based food for some reason. Is that the only protein your allergy Frenchie can have?

Maybe try a kibble from another limited ingredient line such as Acana Singles or Earthborn Holistics Venture line.

Zignature is a good brand. Have you tried some of their other flavors? They do have a kangaroo and a goat which should not be allergenic for your allergy guy. As suggested, you can also try some bone broth or a topper. Stella & Chewy's makes some great freeze dried raw toppers.

try placing the food on a flat tray or plate... crazy as it sounds sometimes, they just don't like the bowl
