So, this may be weird but when I was wiping Bentley's butt today I noticed that there was what looks to be a scab right below his butthole. It's where there is no furr.
He did have diarrhea for a day with what looked to be blood and we figured it was probably from watermelon since he had an issue with it before so we eliminated it and his poop has returned to normal and he is eating normally.

Just wondering if I should be concerned about this scab like thing on his butt.

If it's a scab then I wouldn't worry. Whatever it was, it's healing. I would just keep it clean.

I'm not 100% sure. But it does look like one.
I'm thinking maybe the diarrhea irritated him and that's what caused the blood we saw. I was going to take him to the vet but it all went away.

Agreed. If it looks like it's healing, I would also let it be untouched and just keep clean.

Is it a large scab or small? I would just keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't get infected. Hope it's nothing. Good luck.

So, this has gone away. But Bentley pooped up a bunch of blood just now after days of being fine.
I'm thinking maybe it's either the pumpkin or yogurt he's getting.
I'm going to try and narrow it down over the week. But if the blood continues tomorrow he's going to the vet.
I'm hoping it's just from a certain food.

Any more blood?

Nope. Only the one time.
No vomiting. Eating like a little piggy. Playing like normal.
But I was thinking. Could it just be liquid from blackberries and blueberries?
I have a picture of it. And it looks like blood but since it just disappeared quickly I'm not so sure anymore.

If it looks like blood in his poop I don't think it would be the blackberries since they would be digested... hope it goes away! I would maybe call the vet and see what he thinks if you should bring him in or not.

I would call the vet to be on the safe side.

you can always drop of a sample to the vet and ask them to check for issues... since he is normal otherwise, they can run all the tests -- it is better to have it confirmed than risk something getting worse
