Good morning. New member here. I have a sweet 2 year old (spayed) female brindle Frenchie named Juno. She came to us six months ago and is perfect. I do have one concern/question. She was potty trained and has been doing well up until a week ago. She now goes in a spot in my house even though we take her out often and she goes on two walks daily. I’ve taken her to the vet and have ruled out any medical issues. What else can I try to get her back on track. I had a difficult time potty training my 13 and 18 year old sons, I’m not mentally prepared for my Juno 😄

Welcome to FBN!!

Frenchie's can be a bugger when potty training... the spot has some pull to it so she is returning to mark that area. Have you leaned the area with some white vinegar? That might remove the scent she is 'in love with'

What have you been cleaning the spot with? If not cleaned properly, they will keep going to that same spot. Try the vinegar or you could get some enzyme spray specifically for that issue.

If all else fails, can you put something (small cabinet, chair, etc.) over the spot?

Can you take her out at the same times (as much as possible)? Bambi goes out first thing in the morning, before I leave the house, as soon as I get home, etc. When I let her out, I make sure I see her pee or poop. She hates going outside when it is cold or rainy and if I don't watch, she will go out and come right back in. Good luck.

I have cleaned with pet cleaner and she still continues. I take her out in the morning and when I get home. It has been cold here (cold for California) and a friend told me that her frenchies hate the cold. Juno also knows that her behavior is unacceptable because if I walk to the area to look, and she has pooped or peed there, she runs and hides.

Does the pet cleaner have the enzymatic aspect as not all of them do. If so, it could be worth trying to clean with the vinegar to see if that helps. You might have to go back to basics with her and start the potty training process over again.

I would definitely block off the area, if at all possible, and give her less area to roam.

When Gus was younger, and we expanded the area to add additional rooms for him to have access to, he started having accidents by the front door (an area that was formally blocked off), so I gated the area off again for a few more weeks and he was fine.
