Regurgitation

Danté regurgitated today. He's never done this before. I know it was regurgitation because it was quick, without effort - and undigested pumpkin and kibble. Here are the circumstances:

1.) Danté had breakfast at 9am. Half cup of kibble. Routine.

2.) Danté had a canned pumpkin inside a new hoof as a snack at noon. Not routine.

3.) At 3pm I took Danté for a walk. He wouldn't walk. I mostly pulled him. He wears a harness so there was no pulling at his throat. About five minutes into the walk, he regurgitated. We went back inside.

Is there something I did wrong?

Sometimes they just don't feel well. If they don't want to go for a walk then we don't make them, as something is just not right. I would just watch him for awhile and see how he does, Plus it could have just upset him and that also will make them sick sometimes.

Was it hot out? Could have been too much for him.....

It was hot -- but we were outside for less than five minutes. I want to add that he just woke up from his nap. It was either his hoof - or he was overwhelmed being awoken from a nap and forced to go for a walk. I am trying to form better walking habits as he is stubborn during all of his walks and would rather sit. I guess I have to remember that he is still a little puppy. I feel horrible now.

Awww... don't beat yourself up. Hindsight is 20/20. Is there another dog that you can walk with? Gidget didn't want to walk when we first got her. She would just stop and refuse to budge. The sibs did much better b/c they had older sister as company when we first went on leash walks.
