Round Worm & Interceptor ... Freaking out!

Ok, so I know worms are totally normal.... Rico hasn't had worms and his past two fecals showed nothing... But the vet suggested he take monthly interceptor.

Last month he took the puppy strength on July 1st.

Today he took his 2nd pill, the 8+ pound strength...

Ok so this afternoon he pooped out a LIVE WORM! Here are some DISGUSTING pics! I immediately called the vet...he said the interceptor will be enough... He said this could be him getting rid of the worms he may have had as a result of the interceptor, but I literally gave it to him only 4 hours before the worm appeared.

He said give it a few days and bring a fecal sample in on Saturday.

Do you think the interceptor is enough? Please help!

Yikes! Poor baby.

I's possible that it could be from the Interceptor, but that would seem a little bit quick. Could it be a tapeworm? Easily fixable, but freaky :no:!

I believe interceptor handles tapeworms too. Do you think ther s anything else he should be taking aside from interceptor?

I agree! I apologize - I didn't realize that Interceptor covers tapeworm too. I think I'm getting it confused with the one we used with our dogs a few years back.

Worms of any sort really are rather, um, hard to take, lol. They gross me out so badly. :tongue:

This is really the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. Hahaha. He passed one more live worm last night, then this morning he passed on that was much smaller and dead... You should have seen me though, I literally took him out to poop looking as though I was going to fight Ebola.... I had latex gloves, q tips for dissecting his poop, poop bags, and a collection container so I can catch a worm and positively identify it... My neighbors probably though I've officially gone off the deep end.... Hahaha. Anyway, it's definitely roundworm.... Not whip, tape, hook or heart.

UGH... So gross!!! :barf: I guess the pill is enough but i always thought they would need to be dewormed with a powdered... Think the name is panacur?

I hope all the worms are gone now!

So far three poops have been worm free thank goodness. I just can't with this.... Lol
