Snuggle buddies

Hi Ann, Yes we have food and water bowl guarding issues too. All four of our boys are fed in separate corners of the garage and we monitor them. It's just what we do to make sure to keep the peace.

Is it unusual to have zero issues with this? Hudson had his pug buddy over the other day for a play date and they literally drank out of the same bowl at the same time and then he sat and watched the pug pilfer his food and he didn't react one bit. Wondering if H is the odd man out here, or maybe just too "special" to realize [emoji23]

Not unusual at all. Some are just more protective than others. Batty is not protective of his food or water and shares with everyone no issues. Ollie is a guard-a-holic. Just completely different personalities. It's a good thing he's not a guarder....makes your life more relaxed. :)

My dogs do not have an issue with sharing, but I already know that Wally is 'special'. :D

When I feed them I feed Uma first because she's the oldest and the alpha. Wally follows behind us while I'm walking to her food area, Uma does not care that he's here and she starts eating once she sits for her bowl. Then I get Wally's bowl and he's right there behind me, waiting for his bowl. They both have their own bowl of water but they both like to use Wally's. The only time Uma growls when she has a toy is when she wants to play and is trying to get him going.
