I have an 11 week old frenchie and he's quite a handful. He's still wanting to bite everything but I understand that he's still young and we need to be patient. Unfortunately, lately he's been digging around trying to find my socks, my bf socks and even my roommates socks. Once he finds them he runs around like a maniac, and when we finally catch him he growls, snarls and even bites as we try to take the sock away from him and out of mouth. He bit my roommate so hard that he drew blood. How do I get him to stop this? He's also done the same thing with a tennis ball. This concerns me because there's a child running around our house as well.

He needs training --- use 'Noting in life is free'.... easy tool and everyone must use it and be consistent. When trying to get a toy or sock from him -- use a treat and reward good behavior, if he does not release or growls, no treat. Only treat/praise when he releases.

Once he has had all his shots, sign up for group training which will reinforce the NILIF training

Perfect advice! It's not easy since they're are so adorable but you have to be firm. Good luck!

Yup....this is how I trained my boys to give up items they didn't want to. I taught them the word cookie and I would go get a tasty treat and they would drop the item quickly to get the treat. I spent time also teaching this when they had NOT taken the sock or ball. Give them the sock then offer a treat and say drop it as they are dropping the sock or ball. Then give the treat. Give the ball back to them and repeat the process a few times. Do this 2 or three times a day for a few weeks. They will learn the command drop it and in time you will be able to say drop it and they will drop what's in their mouth to get the treat you are going to give. :)

Happy training.
