Hey everyone!

I was really busy with work , college .... and raising my puppy so I hardly had any time posting!

She's now around 28-29 cm and 5.5-6 kg.

So my puppy (Matilda) is turning into a woman ! she's very smart and she taught herself to pee and poop outside and I had ZERO accidents for 2 months now , she either does it in the yard or when we go for walks.
I was very glad to see that she does it so easily as I read some dogs might have issues doing it on certain surfaces and locations .. she doesn't she does it anytime and anywhere.

My work with trainer is paying off as she knows all the basic commands (constant training and patience is required) and her behavior calmed she became more understanding when she needs to relax and generally calmer.

She does well with other dogs as well and always wants to play :D sometimes she doesn't know when to stop.. and they get angry with her.

My only issue with her is that she goes crazy when I try and put her leash on , she'll bite (not to hurt but to deflect) me when I try and put it on her collar (it's not tight or uncomfortable because she leaves it after a few minutes once we go out and we start the walk).

Any tips on that?

P.S

She also pees out of excitement , although it seems to be getting better in the last few days.

Have you tried to have her sit, give a treat and then put the leash on? Associating it with something positive may help. My Jake will sometimes run away from me when I approach him to put his harness on. It's a game to him. So then I have to either just start walking out the door like I'm going to leave him and he will let me put it on, or I do the treat thing.

That's great advice. I find positive training works well with Frenchies.

She's gorgeous!!!

Yes , I do all that .. the leash just seems to scare her.
Sometimes shes more reluctant and sometimes its easier.

I suppose it will get easier as time goes by.. it seems to work this way with her (She's my first dog).

Usually pups grow out of the "happy" pee. The leash thing I don't know--Buster is 2 & a half and he still sometimes runs away from me when I want to put his collar on. He knows that it means we're going on a walk and he LOVES walks....

Sounds like she is doing great other than the leash thing. I would just continue positive reinforcement. I would say no when she bites to keep you from putting it on her. If she does that and you don't put it on, then that behavior is reinforced. If it were me and I went to put it on, I'd be sure that I got it on. Sounds like you have done great things with her so far. I'm sure you will work through this too. :)

Oh my goodness, your Matilda is just gorgeous. I may be a bit biased, as her face looks quite similar to my 5 1/2 month girl, Penelope. Your Matilda just has the most beautiful spots!

What a beauty! love those freckles!! :luv:

Cheli goes crazy for the leash too.... I have had to work with my patience as much as his.... until he settles down, I do not put the leash on. I make him sit, and if he jumps or grabs the leash I put it back down till he sits again. it is BRUTAL!

Yes ! These little guys sure test us all the time.

Jax and Jake must be related lol. Jax is fine when we put the collar on to take him outside for the bathroom but as soon as he sees the harness he will run under the table or want to be chased. And normally when we pull the harness out, it's because hes' going for a walk or somewhere fun. It is definitely a game to him. Sometimes I will then just go down the stairs and out the front door for a minute and when I come back in, he will be patiently waiting. They are so silly.
