Hi frenchie family,
I am writing this to seek advice from everyone as this is my first frenchie and he is now 1 years old.
He is very playful, energetic, and loving.
However, any little sound outside, the gardeners? He will not stop barking! He is super territorial.
Same thing when I take him out, any human or dog, he goes bananas.
It’s been difficult to train him because once he gets in that barking mode, it’s like nothing phases him.
Does anyone have advice on how to go about this?

Welcome to FBN! Have you tried using a water bottle? Fill with plain water and say “leave it” squirt any where on body as you say it.. I usually go for side of face. My guy hates water and it works every time

Hi there, I share your problem with my little man, it's like he's on another planet when this happens. Luckily for me, he tried it when my brother was there who simply filled an empty spray bottle with water and gave him a couple of short, sharp squirts "in the kisser" as my Dad used to say and after a few "cooling off" sprinkles with "OFF" or "NO" commands, he stops. It took a little while but now he just has to be shown the bottle and he backs down. I know a lot of people don't approve but they're stubborn little dogs and can be resistant to learning basic manners. I totally agree with 2bullymama, it's a lot kinder and more efficient than "a short sharp visit from the smack fairy" or words to that effect! Good luck and don't slip on any wet floors ;)
