Hi guys! I haven't regularly visited the forum but I'm back! Louise is about to become a big sister. My breeder knew that we definitely wanted a second Frenchie at some point. We had to put our pug down at almost 15 this past summer. We really miss having two dogs.

To my surprise on Monday, I received an email about a sweet little 8 week old male who is deaf in one ear. The couple who had the deposit on him lives in NYC and they didn't feel comfortable having a dog with a hearing impairment in the city. The other ear is completely normal so he should have adequate, functional hearing. He has had the BAER testing completed.

Anyway, we fell in love at first sight and I have a soft spot for the little guy who was no longer wanted.

Anyway, Louise is a little high maintenance and definitely has a strong personality. Any tips for adding the puppy and helping the adjustment? I'm worried she is going to be jealous of Leo.

OMG! He is adorable!!! I'm so glad you decided to take him in despite a bit of a hearing problem. Congrats!!

I don't have 2 Frenchies but when I introduced Wally to my other dog Uma (Boston Terrier) I had them meet for the first time on neutral ground so there wouldn't be any territorial issues. Uma is pretty sweet though and isn't aggressive with attention, food or toys so it was quite easy for them to bond. Just keep on eye on her and make sure she's not getting too aggressive with the puppy.

I dont have two, but just wanted to say SO CUTE!!! He reminds me of when Dexter was just a little nugget - gorgeous!!

I just love him! My boy is completely deaf. You can barely tell! He's so alert!

Our dogs failed at introductions due to the circumstances we had dealt, but they aren't aggressive toward eachother. They just haven't figured out they are allowed to just walk around the lay down.... They only wrestle [emoji14]

You will love having two. I'm sure it will work out and it is so much easier to train the 2nd one because the older one helps. We have two and although we have two beds for each for them, I constantly find them curled up together in the same bed:)

So sorry about your little pug. This little pup is adorable - good for you for adopting this angel. There is nothing wrong with him and it's not his fault that he is deaf in one ear. I bet him and Louise will be friends in no time. She will probably ignore him most of the time except when she is looking for a warm body to sleep next to. :)

Let them first meet on neutral ground & make sure to give your current dog as much attention. I know its hard because puppies just need more attention and will automatically get more attention on walks etc.
My girl is super gentle and has never been 'the jealous' kind, so she bonded really fast with my second Frenchie. However I still sometimes just take one dog out at a time to give them some alone time :)
