Tired Puppy

Hey guys do you think I should take Penelope in to the ER Vet if its open? She was all play this am and around 3pm we noticed her just sitting my our feet not wanting to play much. She is breathing normal, just ate all her dinner, and isn't whimpering but something just feels a little strange. Her tummy feels a little bloated but maybe that's because she literally just ate before me typing this. She's sitting in my lap looking around but she's just not as active and rambunctious as normal. She also keeps yawning she's yawned like 4x in the last 10mins.

If you feel like something is genuinely wrong then it's better to be safe than sorry but she could just be feeling a little sleepy. Do you crate train her? Maybe she needs a nap in there. I know I can tell when Titan is done playing, he gets lazy and wanders around oddly and then starts getting into everything and being mischievous so I know it's nap time so into his crate he goes.

Quella does not do well with hard treats. She swallows larger pieces than she should. I tried one of the below as a tester and within an hour she was lethargic and her belly was a little firm. I waited it out and about 3 hours later she poo'd but was still lethargic. I kept watching her wondering whether it was an emergency or not and low and behold she threw up the dog treat in tiny little undigested pieces. It definitely did not work well with her system. Hopefully it's just a lil tummy ache for P as well. If you rethink the evening events and call the emergency vet they're usually pretty good at determining whether you should come in or give her more time before making the trek down there. Keep us posted. She's in my thoughts and prayers.

Ok this is the oddest story! Lol around 3pm when she started acting funny/sluggish I got very hot in our apartment and had to turn the fan on its 70degrees here in ATL. I was literally sweating and had to sit down for a minute. I didn't even think that Penelope could be experiencing the heat as same as me. Our friend who has about 2 months left in vet school came over for a Christmas toast and asked "do you think she's hot with that shirt on?" (The blue adidas terry cloth sweater she wears) so we took it off of her and almost immediately she turned into her rambunctious playful self! I'm so happy he suggested that almost plainly obvious point lol!!! Glad to say she's back to herself and I can enjoy Christmas without having a heart attack worrying about her lol. Hope all your babies are well and Merry Christmas!

I'm so glad she is feeling better and cooled off. I took Q for a walk in her jacket a few weeks ago and she started getting fussy and would stop walking and look at me. I thought she was in pain from a muscle cramp or something. When I picked her up to carry her, I realized she was toasty so I took of her jacket and set her back down. She was rambunctious and full of piss and vinegar that's for sure. It's so crazy how those little things have an impact on or fur babies. I always try to keep in mind cleaning chemicals, temperature and even perfume or air fresheners. Sassy lil P making her mommy and us scared. Great Christmas present for sure!

It's so funny how picky and particular they can be, I guess it's all just a learning experience. I will definitely be considering temperature more often now. It does seem like we know exactly when they aren't being themselves and that's always good!

Glad she is back to herself. Plus that was a good learning curve. No cloths when it is warm.

So glad everything is okay. Bambi didn't eat her breakfast this morning and I was half nuts. I hate it when she does that because of course I imagine that there is something gravely wrong with her. All is well - just finished her dinner.
