I worder if anyone could advise...
My one year old frenchie used to regurgitate immediately after food and drink. He is fed raw and despite almost doing this daily is not underweight.
He had laser surgery done last month to his soft palate which we thought would solve the problem but it hasn't - it's worse.
I don't know if it's because he eats more due to his throat being wider, but he is being sick virtually on a daily basis. Sometimes, six hours after eating he will cough as if he had something in his throat and his uundigested food (tripe) will come up.
We spoke to the vet over the phone yesterday and he has given us some tablets to help his food go down and medicine to line his stomach incase he has reflux. Apparently we should've noticed a difference immediately. It's no different.
I'm going to make an appointment tomorrow but has anyone else come across this? He isn't in any pain and poohs are fine.

Wonder if he could be allergic to something you are feeding.... I had a Bulldog that was allergic to rice and everytime he ate it he would threw up. Now, at the time we did not know it, until we did an allergy test and found out he was allergic to rice, which of course was the main ingredient in his kibble. Once we switched food - he never threw up after that

How often a day do you feed ? Have you tried a slow feeder bowl or feeding him little bits at a time?

Also do u just feed tripe or other protein sources as well?

We had passive regurgitation issues with Wilson when he was very, very young. He would eat, then it would just come spewing back out. He would start gasping like he couldn't get air (looked like a fish out of water, his mouth would open and close like that). At first, the vets were concerned about mega esophogus. Fortunately, that was ruled out quickly. He ended up spending a few days at Va Tech and came home on 3 meds. One of which was Nexium for infants. He stayed on these meds for several months. We went cold turkey with them (per vet) and he has been fine since. I *think* it was a combination of him being the runt of the litter, not being quite developed enough for solid foods - the valve at the bottom of his esophogus to the stomach was the issue. It wouldn't close and keep the food from coming back up. I think tug of war games and just time helped to strengthen all of those muscles.

How much is coming back up? Is it solid and undigested? How many times a day do you feed? Like you say, if he's doing OK weight-wise it doesn't sound like it is an emergency situation. Maybe he is getting too much at one feeding? I'm sure there are others who can chime in here as well.

Please let us know what vet says!

Try feeding smaller portions at a time and see if that helps.

As 2Bullymama suggests, it could very well be a food allergy. Bisou had a very similar reaction to chicken and doesn't do well at all with beef. Lots of burping, lip licking, and general belly distress. It took a lot of testing, but we've found some alternate proteins that she tolerates well and no longer throws up or has any distress. We can do lean rabbit, duck, goat, and bison. All pricey meats - hooray! But it's worth it to alleviate any symptoms she'd been having. Try some other proteins and see if that helps you at all.

Hi! I was just wondering if you ever figured out what was causing this.

Having the same issue post pallet surgery. Currently using Prilosec (our vet approved) and elevated food bowl seem to help alleviate.
