Is there some sort of chart or information on the average weight of Frenchie's as they are growing? Like 6 weeks old = 3 to 4 lbs, 12 weeks old = 6 to 8 lbs, etc. Wondering if there was something to reference to see if mine is headed in the right direction as far as feeding her right. Thanks

My vet said they come in all different shapes and sizes, and there is no real way to gauge where they'll end up. As long as they "feel" right -- ie. no protruding bones or over abundance of fat -- then they're on the right track.

I agree. All dogs are individuals. It's hard to say that a 7 week old should weigh this much or a 10 week old should way that much. What may be too thin or too fat for one may be just right for another.

Those online things said Hudson would be 18 pounds when I did it when he was a puppy. Our bulldog vet and the breeder both guessed 21 pounds (vet based on growth pattern and age and breeder based on parents). He was always so tiny. Well now at almost 10 months he is pushing 30 pounds. Go figure! You never know.

Jax turned 1 in April and weighs around 30 - 31 pounds right now. I recently started to cut back on his food but the vet is not too concerned as he still "feels" fine (around his rib cage area). I know if you plan on showing a male Frenchie, they are not to exceed 28 pounds but we are not showing Jax. I agree that not all Frenchies are built the same and some will weigh more than others I like to say Jax is big boned due to good living! :grill:

According to that thing, Bear will be 31 lbs. Lol.

They are all different sizes, but should all be fairly close in weight. Our 8 week old pups weigh around 7 pounds. When they were 6 weeks old they weighed 5 pounds. Henri is 6 months old and weighs 21 pounds. The thing to look for is you want to make sure you can not easily feel their rigs. We feed our pups 4 times a day until they get about 16 weeks old then switch to 3 times a day until they are around 7 months of age, then switch them to adult food twice a day.

You also need to take into consideration the activity level of the dog. My Jake is lazy and happy laying in the sun or on the couch. Stella on the other hand is high, high, high energy. Of course she is only 10 mos. old, but she is just way more active...chasing birds, butterflies, balls, etc. She gets fed more food than Jake and she weighs 21 lbs. and Jake weighs 28 lbs.

Gidget will be 2 in Oct and is about 23 lbs. She is very active, but seems smaller than a lot that I see photos of. For her size, I think she is proportional, not skinny or too heavy.

I believe Olivia is going to top her and Wilson... well we're just glad he's still with us. All of them are neutered.

^^^^ agreed! Our boy was 18 lbs at 8 months and seemed so thin. he is now 22lbs at 3 yrs and looks great

Pierce weighed 18.4 lbs at 17 weeks. This chart has him at 29 lbs as his adult weight. That seems about right at his growth rate. I will have to weigh him tonight, at 22 weeks and see what he weighs.

Just weighed Pierce and at 22 weeks he weighs 21 lbs. according to the chart now, he would weigh 27 lbs 5 oz when grown. That sounds great to me. It will be interesting to see how close he is to that weight.

Tallulah is small. She weighed in at 9 pounds at her visit last week at 20 weeks old. She was only 3 lbs when i took her home at just about 12 weeks. I believe she will be a little frenchie - but who knows.

9 weeks in and Rosie now weighs 5.3 lbs. vet said that usually at 6 weeks old, 5 lbs. is average weight, but she is very healthy and solid and can tell we are taking very good care of her. told him we feed her Fromm and also give her NuVet plus and he said very good choices.

TeresaW I'm curious what the weight ended up being?!

I was approached by a Frenchie owner while in the airport and she thought Penelope was tiny compared to both of her Frenchies. Penelope weighs 22 lbs and is absolutely perfect. The vet said it's uncommon to see a Frenchie who isn't overweight. Back to the point, this breed has different sizes. I've noticed some have longer bodies, bigger heads, and more stocky. Penelope was a butterball as a puppy 😊

Frappe is about 6 months old and 10lbs, she is really small! She was the runt of the litter, do you think she will get a normal size or stay a pint sized Frenchie? I checked the puppybweights chart and it says she will be a little less than 11 lbs.
