Safari is a little over one but doesn't seem to have the roundness I see from all the other frenchies. Is it just his body type or will be eventually get rounder?

he looks good to me. you might be lucky and not have a 28 pounder there. i remember with my pugs that one filled out under a year and the second took about two years, my third never did get rounded.

Usually all set by end of second year..... Cheli leveled off at 25 pounds at around 2 1/2

After their first year they start filling out, but usually it's around age 2.

He looks great! Wally topped his weight at 30lbs when he was about 1 1/2 years old. He's not really round though, he's longer than a lot of Frenchies I see. They come in all shapes & sizes.

He should be filled out by 2, but that's an average so figure more or less. He's a handsome boy!

Just because a Frenchie might be 28 pounds, it does not mean they are overweight or too big. Jax turned 2 in April and he borders between 28 - 30 pounds and he is all muscle, not fat. He is perfectly proportioned.

thanks everyone! he is 17 pounds so itll be interesting to see where we are at next year!

Same with Hudson. He'll be 2 in November but he has the same body type as Jax and is in the same weight range.

Yeah... Other than their coloring we have the same dog. Radar turns two in October and was just weighed at the vet at 30 pounds and she said he was perfectly proportioned with no fat.

Haha but we actually do!

Hudson rates a 5 on the body scale and the vet (who specializes in frenchies and has for 30 odd years) says he wouldn't change a thing about him.
