Our boy is about to be 8 months. We’ve read some stuff saying it is good to wait to fix him to ensure bone development, with varying time lines as to when that is good - a year, more.

We also want tot be able to take him to doggy day care and get some socializing beyond the few friend’s dogs he sees, but places won’t take him cause he isn’t fixed.

My of my friend’s dogs also nipped in the nards so I don’t want a repeat of that happening - testicle envy.

For your male owners: when did you fix your pup. Thoughts and suggestions?

Thanks.

It truly is a personal decision but anytime after 8-10 months is best.

beedoola I would wait to at least 18 month of age, two years of age would be better.

Mine was neutered at 6 months. I’ve seen nothing that’s affected him except he doesn’t lift his leg to pee. He’s 19 months now.
