I was curious because I'm looking at collars for my future dog. I know most are adjustable by a good bit so if I could get a general average neck size for a female, I think I could start working on that. I am considering making her some too. I love to sew, and have instructions on making collars. I'm trying to occupy myself until I get her. :P

OMG I just saw the cutest little necklaces! I gotta figure out what size. I asked the breeder but she didn't know. I know she is very busy so I didn't want to bother her and ask her to measure.

I think Cheli's is a medium, but I mostly use a harness on him

I plan on using a harness for walks and such but I would like a cute decorative collar for her to wear around the house. I wish I new the average neck size.

I got my little girl a size small for a collar on a super cute shop on etsy. She's 4 months old (around 20lbs) and it's already as big as it can go. So she will have to upgrade to size medium very soon!

Thank you! They do have some cute things on Etsy. Love it! I am thinking medium for my future girl. She is 23 pounds. I want collars for every occasion, so I may make some. :D

I just measured Hudson's neck and it is about 17.5 inches around. He wears a size large in the Puppia adjustable harnesses and is about 25 pounds.

Thank you! :)

Stella is 20 lbs. and her neck size is 15 inches. I am always shopping for clothing to keep her claws off of her itchy skin....that's how I know. Have fun!

Jax is 30 pounds and his collar and harness are mediums. They aren't from anywhere fancy, just Petsmart.

The best way is to get the breeder to measure her neck then add two inches, and that should fit. We don't use collars for ours. When we go for walks we use the slip or "choker" collars. Not to choke them and control them, that's just what we use in the ring, so we always train them with these even though they may not end up in the ring.

I didn't want to bother her asking. I will just measure her myself when I go in a month or two. I need to get some other measurements anyway so I can make her some jackets.
