What's in your bowl tonight?!

I used to add cottage cheese every now and then as a little treat. I have no reason why I don't any more, probably because I rarely buy it. But Jax LOVED it.

Dexter also goes nuts for it!! He gets a spoonful as a treat sometimes and goes crazy! Of course now I can barely take the lid off before he comes screeching round the corner looking for some! :D

I know this was posted a while ago but do you still do the yogurt and does it still help with gas? My last Frenchie had some definite gas issues and I'm wanting to keep this idea in my mind in case my new pup has the same problem!

Yes, it does help with Wally. He'll still fart but not as much as before.

So my Nellie is bored with her Fromm Puppy gold pink bag kibble already. She's only been on it for a few weeks after i transitioned her from royal canin. She barely ate yesterday. so this morning, i added a bit of boiled chicken breast, sweet potato and a bit of coconut oil and she devoured it! I am trying to find some good inexpensive toppers for her. I was thinking lean minced beef, boiled or scrambled eggs and some liver. Any thoughts on these? I would get cottage cheese too but I have major dietary issue and cant have gluten dairy or eggs so am trying to limit having those ingredients in my fridge. Any tips will be appreciated.

It's simple. Anything real and fresh is just as good for them as it is for us. The only things dogs shouldn't have are grapes/raisins, chocolate and some argue avocado. Other then that, feel free to add whatever you have in your fridge.
You could also try Freeze Dried Bites as toppers.

Thanks! I added some eggs and ground beef and she devoured it and came looking for more. I'm wearing of feeding her too much but she is also so tiny and so behind in the weight scales am tempted to increase her portion sizes. She eats three times a day right now, and at 15 weeks stil only weighs 6.5 pounds!

This thread make me feel bad I have been feeding Camille Orijen 6 fish. I would totally feed her raw but I don't think I could spend that much on her food.

You shouldn't feel bad! I only went raw because she wouldn't eat her kibble for days even with toppers. And since she was so behind in weight. I couldn't risk just waiting until she decides to eat. It's a bit pricier than the kibble for sure! I'm thinking of ways to save but she eats three times a day now so I'm having to replenish quicker than I expected. If your puppy loves orijen then feed her that. How old is Camille? She is adorable! My Nellie is 4.5monghs and only 9 pounds not even. As she grows I'll figure out a way to maybe alternate her meals with a cheaper option but still do mostly raw. The good thing is he poop have never been this firm since she switched to raw, so I figure it was a good choice to switch. If she wasn't soooo picky and loved the Fromm I would have never switched. Fromm is a good food

Camille is now 7 1/2 months old. She's a chunky little thing. Last time I weighed her she was 20.5 lbs. she was eating 3 times a day but I decreased to twice a day. But it's now a matter of having her excited to eat any kibble. I think I may go back to Fromm since her poop has been really runny since switching to Orijen.

I had to switch from Orijen to Acana because of the same issue. I felt Orijen was too rich for my dogs.

Also, don't feel bad. I only feed kibble with various toppers (salmon oil, coconut oil, egg), but I don't have to deal with allergies or picky eaters like many do on this forum. Camille is a sweetie!
