Hi everyone!
I’m seeking some guidance for my 15-week-old puppy. She’s had blood in her stool ever since we brought her home at 8 weeks, and we’re feeling quite disheartened at this point.
HISTORY:
She’s been dewormed 2-3 times (I say “2-3” because the breeder claimed they had dewormed her, but we’ve since learned they weren’t very trustworthy).
ER VET VISIT #1:
At the first ER visit, her fecal test came back negative for worms. However, because her belly was distended, the vet decided to proceed with deworming, along with a prescription gastro food for puppies and probiotics.

VET VISIT #2:
When the bleeding continued, our vet suspected colitis and prescribed Metronidazole, a fiber supplement, and another round of deworming — again, despite no worms showing up on any tests.
She improved for about three days with no blood in her stool, but unfortunately, the bleeding returned. We called the vet again, and they suggested yet another round of deworming.
I’m starting to worry that we’re treating for worms despite every test coming back negative.
She’s also been tested for Giardia and Parvo, both of which were negative.
Has anyone experienced anything similar? We’re feeling really discouraged and just want our puppy to be healthy.

Is her stool soft or runny? What food are you feeding.. brand and protein type?

Her stool is actually very well formed. She’s on royal canine gastro RX food which has chicken but according to the vet it’s hydrolysed and puppy her age don’t typically develop allergies yet.
I tried transitioning her to Green Juju raw lamb patties but got scared when the bleeding came back.

Raw will always be best but till you figure out what is going on stay with vet recommendations.

Has this been an issue since she came home at 8 weeks?

Oh yes, the breeder was giving her cheap wet adult purina :cautious: so I think that may have contributed to it. Eventually I'd like to try and transition her to Raised Right beef puppy formula very slowly and see how she does but to be honest I'm paralyzed with fear.
Luckily it hasn't affect her spunk or energy level and she's still putting on weight (although I think 5 lbs for 15 weeks is pretty small)
