Hi I'm new here so please be nice haha :)

We are new owners to a 10week frenchie puppy which we've had a week named Beau,
She's been amazing, hardly any accidents in the house going to the back door
To go out and sleeping well in her crate at night. We have been taking her places she's aloud to goobvously carrying her until she's fully vaccinated so she's getting out and meeting new people and seeing new things noises etc. Anyway this afternoon we had family round Beau was happily greeting them, she was playing then went off to her crate for a sleep, woke after sometime went out for a wee. When she came back in my auntie was leaving she picked her up to say bye and Beau growled at her. I was surprised as haven't heard her do that. Then in the garden I was holding her my dad walked over to say bye and she growled at him. Now I'm all worried that it's aggression. We are first time frenchie owners so any advice would be great.

Thanks

:smileywelcome: to you and Beau. She is young. You can correct her with a firm "NO" when she growls. She hasn't been away from her littermates very long and she hasn't fully adjusted to her new home. It is good that you are socializing her in a protected environment, just consistently give her a firm no when she growls.

Thank you for your reply I will definitely do that :)

Agree with Alice. She is still a baby so when she growls or bites, give a firm NO.

How about socializing her with as many people as possible? Have people over for a visit, etc., on just to pop in for a few minutes, just so she is used to constant activity and people to where strangers become normalized. Good luck.

Welcome!

I agree with the advice already given. I would read up on training to help you along as Beau grows up.

This is what I have been trying, will carry on doing the same thank you :)

Thank you :)

Agree with above advice. If she continues to growl, you can practice having people come over and give her treats when she is behaving. Will help instill positive reinforcement that people = yummy treats, oh boy!
