My wife and I took Loki for a walk today.

Sorry to admit, he still pulls way too much on lead.

We have a pretty large, fence in wooded area near us and took him there.

We decided (anxiously) to let him run loose.

Horrors of spending the rest of the day (and night) chasing after him ran through our minds.

Much to our surprise, he was perfect!

For the most part, he ran ahead a bit, keeping an eye on us and came back when called.

We occasionally changed direction behind him and he would come back to the new path.

Not sure if his behavior was a result of obedience or fear of being alone, but it was great.

Looking to do more of these in the future.

That’s awesome! I’m afraid to take my guys off leash cause I’m scared they’d run off.

But next time get pictures!

Nice.. what a great experience for you all. Cheli could never go off leash, his prey drive is too high so I know he would be up a tree after a squirrel or chasing down a deer.

Back to the woods, today, and I took pictures.

He did well, but no A+ (a bit of an issue with a man on a bike).

Otherwise, all went well.

(harness is in in "upside-down" position, he seems unable to pull out of it this way)

Nice.... as he gets more comfortable, most likely he will listen less.

Easy walker harness? I found the same thing with Cheli

Yep, Easy Walker...

and I think you're right about listening less in the future.

Looks like a great place for walks!

Great pictures! We let Buster walk down our driveway (about 500') without a leash and he always stops at the end and waits for the leash. But I always look to make sure no other people or dogs or cars are on the road because he might have a sudden attack of Bulldog deafness and ignore me calling him!

Bulldog deafness...LOL.

Daphne is usually a great listener and very obedient but the "disorder" sets in when ever she sees something she MUST go investigate.
