Ive been quiet because I didn't want to jinx it, but today we became the new owners of a 7 month old male puppy rescued from FBRN. I'm nuts! But i saw his pic on the rescue site, read his story & said, "what the hell", i'll fill out the application & if it was meant to be ...,well, looks like it was. I don't have a name for him yet, its a hot debate in my home right now. Tallulah & Dimaggio arent quite sure if they are thrilled yet, its been interesting, lol. He is a sweet 7 month old puppy who loves to play. i'm hoping T gets used to him & they become good buddies [emoji177]

It is him! Not keeping that name, we haven't decided on a new one yet. Our first night went very well. And although Tallulah is not thrilled yet - they are getting used to each other. I really hope they become buddies, one of the reasons I wanted another dog was to have a playmate for her. Our 8 year old Malitipoo is wonderful, but he's laid back and not into playing that much. He's a smart cookie and knows how to avoid the puppy-ness this new guy is giving him. Little T on the other hand needs to get right in there and break up the action, lol. But I am feeling optimistic, here they are this morning sharing Dad's lap

Thanks! We were not actively looking for another dog. I always check the rescue sites and read the story and something told me I should do this. Honestly, I never expected to be chosen - I know how popular puppies are in the rescue groups but my attitude was - if it was meant to be it will happen - if not, that's ok, I have my little T. she's still trying to figure out who this new dog is and if she wants to share with him or not, lol. Hoping they become good buddies. He is a real sweetie - just need to decide on a name now.

I truly do believe that they will love each other and love having a playmate - or I never would have considered it, but seeing my little T upset is not fun. DiMaggio is a pro at this now and he'll be fine. Does it really take about a month? Any tips you can give me?

Try the slow intro procedure.... it really works! I use it on all incoming dogs. It's a pain, but will really help T in accepting the new pup. You ease them in to a relationship over time.

Yes, Cheli would not even acknowledge Lambeau for the first few days and it took a good two weeks before they played.

OMG!!! Congrats!!!! He's SO adorable! I'm sure T will get to love him as much as you do. She's not use to sharing her people with a new dog. I don't have any advice though, Uma took to Wally immediately.
