Bambi's ears

Wow, that's a lot of food. Do they eat less of it? Do you make all their food on one day, like once a week? :cooking: Do you freeze any of it?

The meat comes already pre balanced: 80% muscle meat, 10% organ, 10% bone. It comes in little balls, so I can take out what I need and thaw it over night. The rest stays frozen.
The supplements I add to each meal, sometimes I skip one or two, unless I am purposley detoxing one of them, in which case they have to get it at least 2x a day.
I throw the veggis in the mixer and keep it in a big mason jar in the fridge for a few days, I just add a spoonful to each meal.
The coconut Kefir we (including my boyfriend and myself) all take before we go to bed at night.

I like to keep it as fresh as possible, my meat is also not pasteurized so it couldnt stay in the frige for more than 2-3 days anyway, but I prefer to only take out however much I need for the next meal and thaw it.
However if you buy commercial raw (Primal, Natures Variety etc) , this is all pasteurized so you can make a whole batch once a week (meat, veggies, supplements even carbs if you want to) and then just scoop out what you need each day. It can sit in the fridge for up to 8 days and can also be thawed and refrozen, thawed again etc.
:)
Maple eats 7 oz of meat a day + supplements & vegg.
If you add a good carb, such as Quinoa or steel cut oats, you could cut down on the meat since every 1/2 cup of cooked carb = 3 oz of meat. This makes it affordable especially for people with large dogs or multiple dogs.

Thanks, MaplesMommy! I just happened to have to get more dog food today for Bambi and purchased a bag of Orijen. It's great because the store where I got it (or maybe it's brand policy [?]), has a 30-day guarantee where you can return if it doesn't work out. We'll see how this goes while I so some more reading.

Thats great , Mavis :)

In Canada, all dog food is refundable. No matter what. Most stores just dont like to tell you that :D But it might be differernt in the US.

Good luck! :)
