Hello All,

I noticed the other day when clipping Benny's nails that his belly and back leg skin has some dark areas and small spots that look like some sort of irritations. Any idea what might be causing this?

Outside of the skin issues in the photos, his personality is the same crazy self, he is eating and pooping normal - nothing else seems out of the ordinary. Suggestions?

It looks like normal skin to me but I'm certainly no expert. Does it bother him? Does he scratch at his belly?

Not that I have noticed. He has also been on the same food a few months. Zignature Kangaroo and some goats milk. Nothing has really changed. I did try him on some Zignature duck for a week or so however it gave him loose stool.

Does not look irritated to me.

It may be hard to see from the photos, however I outlined the areas that look to have small scab like irritations. They are small however they are there. I will probably just keep an eye on it for some time for now.

Does he go out in the grass? Could be irritation from that.

I live in an apartment and its just now spring so no fresh cut grass yet, however he likes to pee in the areas with tall grass that can defiantly reach his belly.

The grass never crossed my mind, thank you for the suggestion. I will try and keep him away from areas that can touch his belly and see if his skin improves.

I have: Natural Dog Company's "Skin Soother" - Shall I try some of that on the sports that look a bit irritated?

Cheli gets this on occasion.. I wash area with peroxide and then rub in coconut oil... it helps clear it up

Thank you for the suggestion. I am thinking it is from the long spots in the grass. As I watch him closer he like to climb into every tall piece of grass to either pee or pretend to pee haha
