Hi all,
My 5 month old Remy has been dealing with some blood shot eyes. The vet said possible allergies, but unknown what kind? I'm thinking environmental? He said we could give benadryl, so I might try that tonight. Oddly I've had dogs with allergies and normally there are other symptoms. Bloodshot eyes is the only symptom so far, so I'm feeling like I'm not 100% sold on benadryl and possibly topical eye drops would be better? Anyone have any they would recommend or have similar dealings with eyes? They get a little watery, but no conjunctivitis or anything. They seem to be better in the mornings, but never white. He is slightly wall eyed on one side, so it's easier to notice.

Thanks,
Carris

Remy is adorable. His eyes look pretty good in the picture. Does he get eye goobers? If not I'd probably just watch them.

I think they look pretty good as well.

Maybe you can see it better in this pic. No eye goobers really. Just what I would say is common watery eye.

Is it popping out like cherry eye? Is it possible it is just looking red from the slight wall eye? Also, if his eyes are super watering and tearing, that can sometimes be caused by eyelashes growing inward.

it does look a little like cherry eye in this photo.... watery eyes can be from teething.. is he still teething at all?

It does look cherry eyed when he turns his eyes to look side ways, but not looking straight on. He could possibly still be teething. He has to have a few teeth looked at when he heads to get neutered. His has some crowding and possible baby teeth that have not come out. Hard to say because he wouldn't let us get the best look. He isn't chewing a lot, but they might be the problem...not chewing enough. Last night I noticed they get the most red after he plays hard with the other dogs. I'm thinking from getting all amped up. He heads back to the vet next week. So we will see if that cherry eye looks like it's something progressing.
