My 11 month old Lola had brachiocephalic surgery 2 days ago and is doing great! Snares and soft palette were corrrected and you would never know she just had surgery. I can already hear he difference in her breathing. I brought her to a surgical hospital for animals on Long Island and am more than pleased with the results so far.

My only problem for the next 10 days is going to be trying to keep her calm. She wants to play, jump and run but she should not be doing that. She does not seem at all fazed by the surgery.

I am breathing much easier too!

This is a picture of her just returning from hospital.

Glad to hear she is doing well! Trying to keep these digs calm is nearly impossible!

Wow; you can't even tell she had anything done! That is great.

Good for her. Glad she is doing great and breathing better!

What a beautiful face.... so good to hear it all went well... as you said, now for the harder part -- calmness!

Great results for beautiful Lola! Hopefully the “calm” is going well :)

So happy all went well. She is a beauty.

Thanks for sharing this post! I just adopted a 6 month old frenchie, and during our first vet visit we were informed that he might need soft plate resection in the future. He kind of sounds extra grumbly compared to how my pug used to sound lol. I'm assuming your pup had the cold laser surgery? Have you noticed ANY discomfort at all? I'm so paranoid/concerned because my little dude has had a rough go until landing with us :(

She is now three weeks post surgery and I could not be happier with the outcome. I too was concerned about recovery but I can honestly say she was perfectly fine from the minute I picked her up to bring her home. They sent us home with pain meds and I started to give them to her but I only did it for one day. She really did not express any discomfort. She ate normally immediately, however she was on a soft diet for 2 weeks, no dry food. I highly recommend scrambled eggs. She did have the cold laser surgery, no bleeding or swelling. She also had her snares enlarged, she is so quiet now!

I highly recommend this surgery, I got Lola when she was 6 months old too and her breathing noises got worse over time. She was 11 months when she had the surgery. It was a costly procedure but the best money I ever spent. I’m sure this will help her live a longer healthier life.

Best of luck, I’m sure your little guy will be fine.
