I'm wondering if Bambi might have cataracts. I wonder how well she can see because she spooks terribly at everything - dust bunnies, leaves (OMG, you would think they were dragons), anything on the floor out of place, etc. I don't think she can see that well, otherwise, why would she react this way? Took this photo yesterday. Attached are some other pics, too. She was taking a nap with daddy.

She is so adorable. Have you had the vet check her?

I honestly have no idea. I’d probably have the vet take a peek.

Thanks, T. I love her so much.

I love our vet, too however, he is semi retired and I don't think exactly up on the latest technologies/methods. When we brought Bambi in for her well visit three years ago when we got her, he said "what is she? She isn't like any french bulldog I've ever seen." (I thought, you haven't seen many french bulldogs.) Anyway, he is a dear man and always calls several times after we've been in with a concern or when he gets a report that we've gone to the emergency vets with Bambi or Ginger. We don't have many frenchies around here and I am not sure where to go. Went on our neighborhood forum and inquired and got a lot of responses from pug and boxer owners. There is a vet that does cataract surgery on dogs in town, however, I'm afraid if I take her there, they will just say she has cataracts.

When you all take a close up of your dogs, do their eyes photo this way, too?

I have no idea about dog cataracts, but would assume it is possible. I'd try the eye Dr., maybe on referral from your vet. If you live near a Vet. school with a hospital that would be an option too.
I think dogs rely on smell more than eyesight and hearing!

I agree with Alice... you can always get a second option before doing a procedure

I have taken pictures of a dog and their eyes look that way or sometimes they get a little cloudy with age. The vet doesn't have to be up on French bulldogs to know what a cataract is though. I would have someone take a look. It would be best to have it diagnosed earlier rather than later.
