Hello,

I have a 5 month old Frenchie that had cherry eye surgery 6 days ago. I was curious if any of you have had experience with this and how long it took for the swelling to go down. Also, if you have any pictures of the healing process. The surgery was done by making a new pocket to put the gland in. Thank you for your help!

I know blushy can answer this!

Welcome to FBN .... I have no direct experience, but I think the swelling can last about a week so hopefully you should be seeing some improvement by now.

It took about a solid month to get the eye looking "normal" for us. We had quite a handful of vet visits because our girls eye looked so "bad" to us...

I'd give it a solid 4-6 weeks. After that time frame it seemed like nothing bad ever happened.

Pics and my struggles here... Haha.
Also some good advice from other users!

:smileywelcome: to you and your pup. I have had experience with cherry eye with English Bulldogs. 2-4 weeks is what it took for the eye to return to normal.

Welcome and good luck on your pup's eye healing.

Welcome! Good luck to you hopefully he heals up in no time:)
