Hi there fellow Frenchie fanatics!!
I'm registering here to see if anyone has any stories of cleft palate puppies??
I have been hand rearing my buddy since 3 days old.. The vet suggested euthanasia but that was not a option for me.. He will now be 6 weeks on Monday and we are now fundraising to raise the costs of his treatment.. I feel much more relaxed now as he is that bit older but he is so so small in comparison with litter mates, he really is a bundle of joy though so strong !! A real fighter he has proved everyone wrong so far so that is why I believe he deserves this from me..
Just wanted to hear people's success stories to be honest!!

Hope everyone is well xx

Sorry, no experience with this, but have heard the surgery is expensive and painful, and sometimes does not work and a second surgery is needed. that's why most will euthanize them so the pup does not have to go through that. Good luck with your pup, and hope everything turns out OK for the pup. Plus we do not allow go fund me on here, unless it is a special circumstance for a rescue.

I've heard that it's a really extreme road to recovery. Many many complications can arise.

I wish you and your little pup the best! [emoji177]

There's also an IG page, the frenchies name is Quasi! She documented the entire process and even typed out big updates about the healing process!

Good luck with your baby! I will be praying for success! Another rescue site that has a lot of experience with clefts is The Mia Foundation. They are on Facebook as well.
I picked up a day old Frenchie pup for rescue, tubefed him for a few days before he was flown to his foster home by Pilots n Paws, but he passed away a week later from heart and other internal issues, not due specifically from his cleft palate.

Good luck with your pup!! I don't have any experience with this but I do hope he's able to grow and have a full life!

Good luck to you and your pup. I hope everything goes well!

Thank you all for your kind responses!! I've set up an Instagram page for buddy to help with costs - we are doing brilliantly so far!! I also have been in contact with the Mia foundation!! They are bloody brilliant, anytime of day I can contact them and she replies, so so kind!! Buddy will be 8 weeks this Monday coming!! He is doing amazing.. Of course we get the kibble stuck etc but we just cross them hurdles when as and when they come..

We have been in contact with a referral vet in that is one of the best.. He has said between 12-16 weeks is optimum time for surgery so.. Not long to go buddy..

Can't believe he is still here in all honesty.. As we speak Hese pinning down the other pups down ha!!

Take care X

I've tried attaching photos of the buddy man X
