Sherman will be turning 4 months old in the beginning of January 2017. The vet explained that at 4 months old he could go for walks. We also have a backyard that he can play in presently. However, I am concerned about weather. We live in New York, so it can get cold during these months. What is the permissible weather temp to take him out? Thanks!

As with anything, it all depends on the dog.... extreme cold will be a problem, but our guy, cheli, is a diva --- does NOT like anything under 50 degrees. he will run out o his business and FLY back tot he door to get in

My dog same way- does her business, and comes back in as fast as possible. I made her some paw wax by melting together- 4 tbsp coconut oil, 4 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp shea butter, 2 tbsp beeswax, and 2 drops of lavendar oil. This made up 200g of mixture. Haven't really had to use it though, but I figure it will be good in winter when there's salt on the road.

Wally doesn't seem to be affected by the cold. He has been known to nap out on the deck in -10C (approx 14F) weather if the sun is out, but he's a little furnace. Our Boston however wants nothing to do with the cold. Poor almost naked girl. :D

Dexter hates it. He stands at the back door looking up at me as if to say "you expect me to actually pee out there?!!". I still take him out daily though. We just get our jackets on, and I try and keep him off the salt / grit as much as possible. If it was very wet or snowy I'd skip it. He hates being wet more than being cold...... He lives in the wrong country haha!!

Buster loves eating and playing in the snow. When we're walking in freezing temps I put a fleece hoodie on him. What he hates being out in is rain, especially when it is sideways!

Frenchies can be sensitive to cold and hot weather. When it is extremely cold or hot, I would say out to do their business, and right back in.

My girl LOVED the snow last week. She is almost 10 months so it was her first time with it. I will say that she gets it all done quickly when it is cold. We haven't had really cold yet though.

Bambi is a hot house potato. She detests the cold and rain, especially. She can go out and pee in ten seconds flat and be back inside. :D
