Louis, my 10 yr old, has been fighting staph/yeast on his paws for at least a month. I've tried Cephalexin, Ampicillin, Orbax, Ketaconazole, & Benadryl. His paws are still red and he's still itching and licking. Have been trying organic apple cider vinegar, but that just makes him lick more. His food hasn't changed- he's on Blue Freedom Chicken and all of his treats are wheat/sugar free. So, I bought some colloidal silver today -500 PPM. The lady at health food store told me to give him 1/2 of a dropper 2-3 times a day- he's 35 lbs. She also said that I could put it on his feet. Anyone had experience with this and does dosage sound correct?

I have never used it but according to vetinfo dot com, it says you can give medium-sized dogs 30 ml, twice daily. I would also change foods as chicken is a known allergen in some bullies. We feed ours grain free FROMM and have had great success.

Agree with David.... May be the chicken. Also, my girl is allergic to both chicken and all things green (grass, weeds, trees, etc). So what I do is wipe her paws after she is put side.... It helps lessen the reaction or itching

Have you tried soaking paws yet? You can try soaking in apple cider vinegar, or betadyne, Epsom salts, or chlorahexidine. All of these should be diluted heavily with water.

Yes, I've soaked his paws in organic apple cider vinegar- hasn't helped. Using the silver and also started kefir- we'll see. He's still licking and chewing on them. He has never been allergic to chicken- has eaten it all of his life.

Allergies can come on later in life so I would try and switch from chicken to see if it helps. My Boston is allergic to chicken now but for the first 2 years of her life she ate chicken with no problems.
