Ugh I should have knocked on wood. He was doing so well for like 2 days and nights then last night up all damn night. Peed in his crate and today I feel like we are right back to where we started. Loosing my mind!

I think an important part of training a dog is to not give in. People tend to give in to their dogs when they see they are unhappy. I don't have that problem. My wife and daughter are a whole different story.

Our dog is now crate trained and has no accidents at all anymore. All the worries and stress is gone because of persistence.

If your dog is unhappy with being in his crate, don't give in. Eventually it will go away. Also the use of an Xpen helped us tremendously!!!!

Do you have a bigger crate at all? I've just had a flashback to when Dexter was little, and for the first couple of weeks he was OK in his carrier, like you have above, but we had to move him into a bigger crate really quickly. I'm not sure if he felt claustrophobic or what, but it made a huge difference. He's still using the same one now. It's about 4 feet X 3 feet. It may help you to get him settled. Just a thought.

He is so cute in that pic!! Love those ears!

Maybe you should get a larger crate with a divider so you can section it down so that he only has room to stand, turn around, and lay down. That crate is giving him a lot of extra room so he can easily potty in one area and lay in another. Just a thought!

But did you use the pen before he was actually potty trained?! We tried the pen the other week and the dog walker just came in to pee and poop all over the place!

We actually have it sectioned off with bricks wrapped in towels so he does not have access to the back!

Bummer. I mean, that's great! I was just hoping this would be a fix for you. [emoji846]

Oh, I have another thought that worked for my boy! I put a fleece baby blanket in the crate that I had slept with so it had my scent on it. That turned into my boy's favorite lovey and I ended up sewing a little fleece bed together using the material and that was a HUGE hit.
