She hates the crate, and barks, screams crys, digs at the plastic tray, chews the wire ect. ..all my dogs are crated when we're not home or overnight but heaven forbid she gets put in the crate. Im trying to ignore it but its impossible. Do you think she can ever quiet in there or should i just let her win lol j/k. Btw she is 14 weeks old. She seems fine sleeping in it just not if she can see us at all. 20160104_091354.jpg

Oh my goodness. She is adorable.
The trick is only let her out when she is calm, and on YOUR terms. Once you start giving in she will know, that once she starts to make a fuss you will let her out!
I know its hard.... our baby girl is younger than yours and went through the same thing. It is finally getting better. Just have to stick to it!

Okay good, thats what ive been doing but of course my kids cant stand her screaming and they start talking to her which only makes it worse

Honeybacon, you cannot allow her to win, or at least let her out of her crate because she is fussing. This will just reinforce her fussing until she gets her way. If you allow it once, she will escalate her bad behavior more and more until you let her out. Once she learns that her crate is not a punishment and that she only comes out on your terms, then she will settle down. Do you feed her in her crate? I would do that and shut the door - good association. We do this with Bambi. We had the luxury of Bambi being crate trained when we got her by the breeder. Last night, she wanted to be upstairs with us, however, and fussed for a while. My husband gets ready to cave because he hates it when she cries, but I know we cannot do that. Of course, she stopped after a while and went to sleep.

Hi Mavis yes she is fed in her crate (slow eater and big dogs would steal if i dont) but i think she thinks she should be fed each time i put her in. My others dogs were a breeze to crate train.

You have been given good advice--hang in there, stay firm and be consistent! She is adorable!

As above!

It's one of the hardest thing to do I think - the noise that comes out of them is really unbearable! I had to tell our neighbours what we were doing in case they thought something terrible was happening to him!

Totally worth it though. I pop Dexter in his crate whenever I need to and not a peep out of him. If his eyes could speak though they'd tell a different story haha! :D

Stick with it and she'll learn to love the crate soon enough. Good luck!

As someone else mentioned --- she will settle in and do not let her win -- first time she does she will never forget it .... :stinkeye:

I failed at crate training. Every time I put Jax in there he cried and cried and cried and hated it so I always took him out. When he is home alone he gets confined to the kitchen.

Yup! My Frenchie did the same thing at 14 weeks old but he had no choice but to suck it up and make the cage his home.
